Eureka College will be here on Tuesday, November 27th during Activity Period.

 

       

Scholarships:

 

Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative- EIEC has announced that twelve scholarships, of $2,000 each, will be awarded in 2019 through the Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program. Six scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who are the sons or daughters of an Illinois electric cooperative member receiving service from the cooperative. Applications are available at https://aiec.coop/iec-memorial-scholarship-official-rules/ and are due December 31st, 2018.  



National Wild Turkey Federation- The NWTF is again offering the Dr. James Earl Kennamer Academic Scholarship to a graduating senior. Applicants must be a current member of the NWTF. Applications are available in the Core and are due January 1st, 2019.

 

Mediacom Scholarship- Again this year, Mediacom is offering 55 $1,000 scholarships to senior high school students who live in the 21 states where Mediacom provides cable, internet, and telephone services. Apps are available at www.mediacomworldclass.com and are due

February 15th, 2019.

Reminder, Students coming back after lunch are to go to the cafeteria or the balcony only.  Students that stay here for lunch please stay out of the stairwell for the balconies.

 

The boys VARSITY locker room will switch over to basketball this weekend.  Anyone that is not on the basketball team needs to move into the PE locker room.  See Coach Hornaday if you need a lock.

 

As a  reminder, all of the announcements are updated daily on the school website.

 

Anyone interested in playing baseball this year needs to sign up this week on the sheet that is in the office.

 

The balcony is closed for lunch until further notice due to students failing to clean up after themselves.  Lunch should be eaten in the cafeteria, outside, or off-campus. The balcony will be available to wait for the bell after eating - but no food or drink is allowed.  

 

NHS is co-sponsoring a blood drive with Douglas County Rotaract on Monday, November 19th from 9:30 to 3:00 in the study hall.  If you are 16, you need parent permission to donate - the forms are in the office to have signed and bring with you when you donate.  If you are 17 and over, you do not need a special form to donate. Please donate during your study hall and help out the blood bank and your community in a time of high need.  If you donate, you will receive a shirt and will be entered in a drawing for gift cards. Thank you!

There is a limited amount of extra playoff shirts in the office for sale, Be sure to come by and buy one before they are all gone!
